Four generations of the Tombacco family, Prosecco DOC in bottle, returnable glass and keg. Villa Cornaro, Ca' Vini and what each wine is.
| Toser |
A family firm founded in 1919, making the wine that fills ordinary glasses on ordinary days, and sometimes the tap behind the bar.
In 1919 Lodovico Tombacco started a wine business in the Veneto. After the war his son Sergio grew it to national scale. The third generation, Giorgio, Valerio and Marco, took it abroad, and the fourth, Maddalena and Michele, has since joined. That is more than a century of one family, which in the wine trade is rarer than a good parking space in Valdobbiadene.
The winery is at Via Villanova 12 in Trebaseleghe, in the province of Padua, a long way from the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills. The registered office is at Via Piave 11 in Maserada sul Piave, in the province of Treviso. The company is Toser Vini SpA, still owned by the Tombacco family.

The story
Toser's history is a map of how Prosecco reached ordinary drinkers. Sergio built a national business; the next generation built an export one. Today the range runs to four lines in one-way glass, two in returnable glass and three in kegs, and the family names Prosecco and Pinot Grigio as its flagships.
Those returnable bottles and kegs tell you who the customer is: bars and restaurants pouring by the glass. A keg of Prosecco isn't romantic, and it doesn't need to be. It is Prosecco as a working drink, and somebody has to fill it.
Toser also makes wine for other people's labels. In the Netherlands, the supermarket Albert Heijn sells a Villa Rosa Prosecco at 10.5% abv and names Toser Vini as the supplier. Sysco Ireland lists Toser's Il Portone brand for the trade.
All of it is Prosecco DOC. That is the broad appellation that spreads across the plains of the Veneto and Friuli, as opposed to DOCG, the steep hill zone around Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Some of Toser's wines carry "DOC Treviso" on the label, which means the grapes come from the province of Treviso. The family's pitch isn't a single hill. It is a hundred years of keeping the glasses full.
What to drink
Toser publishes tasting notes but no sugar figures; the sugar field on every product page is empty.
Villa Cornaro Prosecco DOC Brut. The premium line and the one to try first. Brut is the drier style. The producer describes pear and white flowers with a creamy mousse, at 11% abv. We found no price.
Villa Cornaro Prosecco DOC Rosé Brut. Glera and Pinot Nero, vinified separately, and described by the producer as very low in sugar. We found no price.
Villa Cornaro Prosecco Spumante Extra Dry DOC Treviso. Extra Dry is sweeter than Brut, despite the name. The producer describes apple and white peach, with acidity and sweetness in balance. We found no reliable single-bottle price.
Ca' Vini Prosecco DOC Extra Dry. The everyday bottle: floral, with apple and white peach, and soft, says the producer. About €8.00 from Italian retailer birimport.com (roughly $9), from a listing about a year old.
Villa Cornaro Prosecco Frizzante DOC. Frizzante is the lightly sparkling version, with less pressure than spumante. The producer suggests it as an aperitif, with green apple and pear. It comes with a string-tied cork ("spago") or a screwcap (Stelvin). We found no price.
Prices: euro prices are what the winery or an Italian retailer charges, with a rough dollar figure at about $1.14 to the euro (October 2026). In the US, expect more on the shelf once shipping, the 15% tariff on EU wine, importer and distributor margins and taxes are added.
Where it fits
Toser sits in the same broad DOC world as La Delizia, but where La Delizia's story is several hundred growers in a co-op, Toser's is one family across four generations. Neither is trying to be a hillside grower like Gregoletto or Gemin. If you want a Brut for a crowd, start with Villa Cornaro. If you spot Il Portone or Villa Rosa, now you know whose cellar it came from.

- Ireland: Sysco Ireland lists Il Portone for the trade.
- US and UK: we found no confirmed importer or retailer. If you know one, tell us.
Quick answers
Is Toser the same as Toso? No. Toser Vini is the Tombacco family's company, founded in 1919. Toso is a different producer.
Is Villa Cornaro the same as the "Cornaro" Prosecco Falstaff reviewed? No. Falstaff's Cornaro wines are made by Cantina Montelliana. Toser's line is Villa Cornaro.
Where is Toser Prosecco made? At the family winery in Trebaseleghe, in the province of Padua. All of it is Prosecco DOC.
