A Friuli co-op of 380 growers, founded in 1931, behind the Naonis Prosecco DOC range. What each wine is, what critics scored it and what it costs.
| La Delizia |
Three hundred and eighty growers, one co-op, a town with "delight" in its name and a great deal of Prosecco. This is how most of the world actually meets the wine.
Casarsa della Delizia is a farming town on the plain of the province of Pordenone, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, on the far eastern side of Prosecco country. In 1931 its growers did what growers in poor decades often did: they pooled their grapes and built a cellar together. The co-op's first name was reportedly Cantina Sociale Cooperativa Destra Tagliamento, the "right bank of the Tagliamento" co-operative cellar. Today it is Viticoltori Friulani La Delizia, and it calls itself the largest wine company in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Its owners are still the growers: 380 member families, by the co-op's own count. When you buy a bottle, that is who you are paying.

The story
La Delizia's members farm about 2,000 hectares between them, which is an enormous patchwork of family plots, and the co-op itself owns only 100 of those hectares. About 600 hectares are Glera, the Prosecco grape, and 700 are Pinot Grigio. The cellar turns all of it into around 26 million bottles a year, and the co-op says about 55 percent goes abroad, mainly to the USA, the UK and the rest of Europe. (A Decanter China promotion put the export share at 60 percent. Either way, most of it leaves.)
The work is spread across the province. Pantianicco runs vineyard trials, and Zoppola handles logistics. The co-op holds SQNPI certification, Italy's national standard for sustainable integrated farming, and the BRC and IFS food-safety standards that big supermarket buyers ask for.
Here is the jargon that matters. Prosecco DOC is the broad appellation, spread across the plains and hills of the Veneto and Friuli. Prosecco DOCG is the smaller, steeper hill zone. La Delizia makes DOC only. Every Naonis Prosecco is made by the Charmat-Martinotti method, meaning the second fermentation happens in a large pressurised tank, not in the bottle. That keeps the fruit bright and the price friendly.
What to drink
The Prosecco goes out under the Naonis name. The co-op publishes no sugar figures and suggests serving everything at 4 to 6 °C.
Naonis Prosecco DOC Extra Dry. The flagship. Extra Dry is, confusingly, sweeter than Brut, so expect a rounder, softer wine. The co-op describes it as fresh and fragrant with a fruity nose, an aperitif that also works with fish. Falstaff gave it 90 points in a 2025 tasting. About €6.50 to €7.47 from Italian retailers Ninjawine, Essemme and Telaro (roughly $7 to $9).
Naonis Prosecco DOC Brut. The drier choice. The co-op talks about a floral nose and an intense, fruity palate, pale straw with green glints. Falstaff scored it 89 in 2023 and noted a finish that fades. We found no Italian price; Swiss shop flaschenpost.ch lists it at CHF 11.95.
Naonis Prosecco DOC Extra Dry Millesimato. A vintage-dated Extra Dry (millesimato means the grapes all come from one harvest). The co-op publishes no description. About €8.20 from Italian retailer Enoteca Corona (roughly $9).
Naonis Prosecco DOC Rosé Extra Dry Millesimato. Glera with Pinot Nero, pale pink, and, in the co-op's words, roses and berries on the nose. About €6.97 from Italian retailer Bennati (roughly $8).
Naonis Prosecco DOC Extra Dry Biologico. Made from certified organic grapes; the co-op calls it fruity and floral. We found no price.
Prices: euro prices are what the winery or an Italian retailer charges, with a rough dollar figure at about $1.14 to the euro (October 2026). In the US, expect more on the shelf once shipping, the 15% tariff on EU wine, importer and distributor margins and taxes are added.
Where it fits
If Gregoletto and Gemin are about one family and one hill, La Delizia is about a whole plain. Pick it when you want a reliable, well-priced Prosecco DOC for a party, a spritz or a Tuesday, and when you like knowing that the money goes back to a few hundred farming families. Falstaff rates the Extra Dry a point above the Brut, so if you are choosing between the two, start there. For a hillside Prosecco Superiore, look to the DOCG producers instead.
Where to buy
- Italy: online retailers including Ninjawine, Essemme, Telaro, Enoteca Corona and Bennati list Naonis wines.
- UK: trade supplier Gerrard Seel lists a Vignal Prosecco Extra Dry under La Delizia, with no price shown. We found no current retail stock of Naonis.
- US: the co-op names the USA as a main market, but we found no importer. If you know one, tell us.
