Our Own Wines: Signorina Prosecco

Our own wine, labelled as such. Signorina is the sister label to Bella Principessa, made by the same team that publishes The Prosecco Desk. This page covers Signorina's two Proseccos.

Signorina Prosecco DOC

Life doesn't need a reason. Open the bottle anyway.

Signorina is the easy one. Two Proseccos, a white and a Rosé, both in the Extra Dry style: bright, refreshing, a little softer and fruitier than Brut. Made for spontaneous gatherings and good company, and marked with the Signorina heart-and-crown, our emblem for Italian style and friendship.

Brut is admired for its precision. Extra Dry is loved for its drinkability.

"Extra Dry" sounds drier than Brut, but on a Prosecco label it is the other way round. Extra Dry sits at 12 to 17 grams of sugar per litre by law, Brut at up to 12. That small step gives Signorina a little more fruit and a softer finish, without tasting sweet.

Quick answers

Is Signorina Prosecco sweet? Not really. It is Extra Dry, which on a Prosecco label means 12 to 17 g/L: a little softer and fruitier than Brut, but still crisp.

Is Signorina Prosecco DOC or DOCG? DOC. Both wines are Prosecco DOC from the Veneto, harvested in Treviso.

What grapes are in Signorina Prosecco Rosé? Glera with Pinot Noir, the blend the Prosecco Rosé rules allow.

How is Signorina different from Bella Principessa? Signorina is Extra Dry and easygoing; Bella Principessa is Brut, in a painted bottle. Same team, two moods.

Is this site independent? No. It is published by the team behind Bella Principessa and Signorina, which is why this page exists and is labelled. The producer pages are researched and sourced, and nobody pays to be listed.
