Prosecco at Spec's

Spec's in Texas stocks Prosecco from $8 half-bottles to a $35 Superiore DOCG, with about 10% off a case. Prices seen October 2026, and our picks.

Texas's big drinks warehouse, with a deep Prosecco shelf, half-bottles for one, and a real discount when you buy by the case.

Spec's is a Texas institution: more than 210 stores, and every one of them in Texas. Its Prosecco range is deeper than the supermarket's, running from a $7.99 half-bottle to a Superiore DOCG Brut Nature at about $35, with most 750ml bottles between $12 and $17. It also offers the clearest case discount we found anywhere, about 9 to 10% off twelve bottles. If you're in Texas and planning a wedding, a graduation or simply a very good autumn, this is your shop.

One honest warning before we start. Spec's website wouldn't let us in, so the prices below come from search listings, and some of those listings may be a year or more old. Spec's itself says prices vary by store.

Our picks

Judgements from appellation, style and price. We haven't tasted these bottles for this page.

Best under $15: Mionetto Organic Prosecco di Treviso Brut, about $13.57. Organic, labelled DOC Treviso and labelled Brut, so you know where it comes from, how it was farmed and roughly how dry it is. That's a lot of information for under $14.

Best DOCG: Borgoluce Prosecco Superiore Sui Lieviti Brut Nature, about $34.73. "Sui lieviti" means "on the lees": this is the old country style, finished in the bottle with its sediment left in, and Brut Nature means no added sugar at all. It's the bottle for the friend who thinks they don't like Prosecco. One listing showed a $5.25 sale price, which we're fairly sure is a typo, not a miracle.

Best Rosé: Mionetto Prosecco Rosé Prestige, about $13.65. A fair price for a Rosé from a big name.

Best for a party: a case of Maschio Prosecco Brut, about $137.88. That's about $11.49 a bottle for a Brut. If you'd rather pour from something showier, the La Marca 1.5L is about $31.57.

If you see it, buy it: Val d'Oca. Spec's lists it, though we couldn't see a price or which of the range it is. It's the one bottle on this shelf from a producer we've profiled, so read our page and ask in store.

Exclusives and private labels

We found no Spec's own-label or exclusive Prosecco. The value here is in the range and the case price rather than a house brand.

Buying tips

  • Buy by the case. At Spec's, twelve bottles typically cost 9 to 10% less than twelve singles. Ask whether mixed cases count; we couldn't confirm it either way.
  • Half-bottles are underrated. A 375ml Ruffino at about $7.99 is two good glasses, with no leftover going flat in the fridge.
  • Brut Nature, Brut, Extra Dry. In that order, from driest to sweeter. The Borgoluce has no added sugar; the Borgo Palazzi Extra Dry has a little.
  • Pick up, don't wait for shipping. Spec's can't ship to Texas addresses, but store pickup and local delivery through Uber are there instead.
