Walmart's Prosecco, from a DOCG at about $10 to La Marca Rosé at about $19. Prices seen October 2026, what each bottle is, and our picks.
The everyday Prosecco aisle of America: big brands, small prices, and one Superiore DOCG hiding at under $10.
Walmart is where a lot of Americans buy their first bottle of Prosecco, usually on a Tuesday, usually next to the paper towels. We think that's lovely. Prosecco was never meant to be saved for a special occasion, and the Walmart shelf is built for the opposite: mass-market Prosecco DOC from names you already know, at about $10 to $19 a bottle. The surprise is a Superiore DOCG at the bottom of that range. Read the label and you can do very well here.

Our picks
These are judgements from appellation, style and price. We haven't tasted these bottles for this page.
Best under $15: Ruffino Prosecco DOC, about $11.98. A clearly labelled DOC from a big Italian house, at a price that makes a Tuesday feel like a Friday.
Best DOCG: Amistani Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry, about $9.96. Superiore DOCG comes from the hill zones at the heart of Prosecco, and it usually costs more than this. At under $10 it's the bargain on the shelf. Extra Dry means a touch of sweetness, which flatters a cheese board and a mimosa alike.
Best Rosé: La Marca Prosecco Rosé, about $18.99. The Josh Cellars Rosé was out of stock when we looked, so La Marca has the pink corner to itself.
Best for a party: we didn't see a magnum or a multipack in Walmart's listings. Buy the Ruffino or the Amistani by the half-dozen and let the savings do the hosting.
If you see it, buy it: Mionetto Prestige Brut, DOC Treviso. It was out of stock when we checked, but it's the only bottle on this shelf labelled Brut, the drier style. If you like your bubbles crisp rather than soft, grab it when it comes back.
Exclusives and private labels
Walmart's own label is Winemakers Selection. It launched in 2018 with Italian, French and Californian wines, and was later cut back to a core of five $5 Californian wines. A Winemakers Selection Extra Dry Glera/Prosecco from Italy is still listed at about $9.98, though one listing showed it out of stock. Walmart doesn't say who makes it, and we couldn't find out. For the same money, we'd take the Amistani DOCG, because its label tells you exactly where it comes from.
Buying tips
- Read the small print. Several Walmart listings don't say DOC, DOCG or a sweetness level. The bottle will. DOCG ("Prosecco Superiore") means the hill zones; DOC covers a much bigger area.
- Extra Dry is sweeter than Brut. Wine labels say it backwards. Brut has up to 12 grams of sugar a litre; Extra Dry has 12 to 17.
- Check the date before you check out. Prosecco is made to be drunk young. If the bottle shows a vintage, the most recent one is the one you want.
- Chill it properly. Three hours in the fridge, or 20 minutes in a bucket of ice and water. Serve at about 43 to 46°F.
